Delivery Charges

The majority of orders are dispatched and delivered using a pallet courier and delivery is free on orders over £99 to Mainland UK, for more information; see below.

We offer standard delivery alongside a Next Day and Saturday delivery option that is available at checkout for an additional charge.

Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver to the following postcode areas: GY, HS, IM, IV47-55, JE,KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-80, PH42-44, PO30-41, TR21-25, ZE via our website, although delivery may be available at an additional charge. You are also more than welcome to arrange your own courier service. 

Lead Times

Delivery generally takes between 3 and 5 working days and you will receive email notification when your order is dispatched. Delivery will be made between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 and in most circumstances you will receive a call from the delivery driver approximately an hour before delivery is due. Unfortunately you cannot specify a time, if this could potentially be an issue please contact our sales team and we may be able to arrange delivery for a specific time at an additional charge. Please be advised that we are unable to offer free delivery in certain locations within the UK. 

We also offer a next-day service which will be delivered on the next available day provided your order is placed before 13:00, otherwise it will be delivered the following working day. Along with the next day service, Saturday delivery is available and will be delivered on the next Saturday available provided you order Monday to Friday and before 13:00 on Friday. 

Under certain circumstances and during our busiest period delivery lead times may be extended and you will be notified at time of order, we will ensure that your order is delivered as soon as possible with order(s) paying for a next-day or Saturday service prioritised.

Most products are delivered on pallets, in which case pallet trucks are used and a curb side delivery only can be guaranteed. The courier may deliver as close to the property if access allows and it is safe to do so. It is not possible to move pallets over grass or loose surfaces (e.g. gravel) so please check before ordering. We are not able to carry materials up paths or to rear gardens. Access to sites must be on hard roads over which a vehicle can pass without sustaining or causing damage of any kind.

Delivery Vehicle and Access

All deliveries made from our website are delivered on a pallet and therefore require a certain type of vehicle with a tail lift. These vehicles are 8.5 tonne and 18/24 tonne respectively.

You must make sure you are able to accommodate vehicles of this size before placing an order, and if you are unable to accommodate please contact us to make alternative arrangements. If you do not contact us prior to the order and the courier is unable to deliver due to access, we will return the pallet to the local depot and contact you to make alternative arrangements for redelivery or return the pallet for a full refund minus any additional delivery charges.

Unable to be present at the delivery?

In the event the courier has booked a delivery time and date and you are not present to take the delivery, the order will need to be re-delivered at a later date or sent back to our depot which will incur a charge of £42 per pallet. 

However, you may choose to opt out of the required signature for delivery. This may be convenient if you have a busy schedule or know that you will not be available to sign on the day. In these instances, the driver will place the firewood outside of your home on a hard flat surface near the property. Typically the firewood will be placed on the front drive or by the side of your house. Please note that Firewood and Logs does not accept responsibility for stolen or misplaced deliveries, should you decide to opt out of signing for your delivery.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refund policy under the distance selling act

The consumer has a cooling-off period of 14 working days in which to cancel the order. The cooling-off period commences the day after the goods are received by the consumer.

Any cancellation of the order shall be made in writing to UK Timber Ltd, The Gas Depot, Weldon Road, Corby NN17 5UE or sales@uk-timber.co.uk within the cooling-off period. 

The consumer has a duty to take reasonable care of the goods. The consumer will be entitled to a full refund for the goods, however any goods returned to the supplier will be at the consumer's expense or at a charge not exceeding the direct delivery or haulage costs.

If an order is cancelled or turned away (order not accepted) while the goods are in transit then you will be refunded the full amount of your order minus a return delivery charge.
